Pharmacy Tech School

By Clark Hunter Attending pharmacy tech school is something that most people find very rewarding. Whether you are just out of high school or if you have been in the job market for awhile, making strides toward being a pharmacy tech is very exciting. This is a career that can take you to places all around the world; because it doesnt matter where you go people are in need of pharmaceuticals. A pharmacy tech can get his or her education and then choose to live just about anywhere in the world; there are not many jobs that are that versatile. Choosing a Pharmacy Tech School If you have decided that you want to become a pharmacy tech you need to choose the school that you would like to attend. If you are lucky the university closest to your home has a complete program that you will be able to attend in just a couple years time. If you dont have a university in your area you should definitely check with your local community college. Many community colleges have great pharmacy tech programs that can get you in and out of there in record time. Community colleges are also beneficial because they are typically cheaper than universities but provide an education that is just as good. Perhaps you know you want to attend pharmacy tech school but you cannot fit the classes into your current work schedule. If this is the case you shouldnt give up on your dream to be a pharmacy tech. First, see if you can change your schedule around a little bit and see if you have an accelerated pace university in your area that will only require that you attend classes once a week or even once a month. If you still cannot pull this off why not check out some of the online pharmacy tech schools? There are quite a few of them popping up and they will allow you to fit your education in when it is convenient for you. Attending a Pharmacy Tech School Pharmacy tech school is known for being difficult, so dont psych yourself out by going into the educational process thinking that you wont be able to do well. While the work is difficult it is not impossible. You will probably have to work harder at some things than others, but if you push through you will find that you can do it. Remember when you get frustrated that anything worth doing is difficult. Pharmacy tech school is a process and you will build education upon education so that when you are done with the program you have all the information you need to get the job done. Ensuring that you attend all of your classes will generally help you from getting overwhelmed or feeling as though you do not have all of the information that you need. If you are going to a traditional university or community college you should be sure that you attend all of your classes, and if you cannot be there hook up with a classmate to borrow their notes. If you feel as though you are not getting the material being presented ask if you can meet your professor after hours or get involved in a tutoring program. You cannot take your education too seriously and if you dont understand one facet of the education it is possible that you will be lost from there on out. If you are attending an online pharmacy tech school you should be sure that you do your work as instructed. It can be really easy to get behind when you attend online schools because there is so little accountability. If you get behind be sure that you take your time to get caught up and dont hurry through any of the material. If you hurry through material you are likely to miss vital information, making future lessons more difficult to understand. The best idea is to come up with a plan of action for yourself and stick with it so that you can get all of the material completed online and in a very complete manner. Life after Pharmacy Tech School You might want to established connections throughout your schooling so that you have an easier job securing a job after you complete the pharmacy tech program. You can offer to work as a cashier at your local pharmacy so that you can ease right into a pharmacy tech position after you complete the program. If you would like to work for a hospital or insurance company, see if you can get into the company or facility before hand in another capacity so that you can more easily fit into a tech role later on. Its never too soon to start making connections in the pharmacy world, so start forming connections now to make getting a job easier! You Can’t Fool Mother Nature

By Patty Gale In the 1970′s, there was a margarine commercial with the message of “you can’t fool mother nature.” This statement never held more true than it does today. Up until the very early 1900′s, the farming and livestock in this country was grown and raised using natural and organic methods. It was just the way it was done and it didn’t need to be called “organic”. In the last 50 years or so, more extensive use of chemicals became widespread. Remember when a tomato actually tasted like a tomato? With the advent of chemical pesticides and herbicides for produce and steroids and antibiotics fed to livestock, is it any wonder why people are nervous about the future of our health? We are what we eat, there’s no question about that. There is a saying, “garbage in, garbage out.” Biotechnology is all the “buzzword” these days. We now have genetically modified foods in our grocery stores, except there are no labels to let you know. Genetically modified foods, (or GMO foods as they are known) are products that have been genetically mixed with DNA mixed from other foods to supposedly grow a product that is more resistant to disease and will grow faster and bigger. Ever notice how the fruit in the produce aisle is so much larger than ever before? Yet, the taste leaves much to be desired. A tomato grown in a greenhouse will never compare to a tomato grown in a backyard. It is not nearly as difficult to find stores carrying organic and steroid-free foods as it was even just 20 years ago. Organic products are becoming more mainstream than ever before and are not reserved for only for health food stores any longer. Several large grocery chains now carry complete lines of organic products as a result of the demand from consumers. It is just common sense. When you mess with nature, the outcome cannot possibly be good. This is all the more reason to choose organically grown fruits and vegetables and drug-free meats. In our next series, well show you how to change your grocery shopping habits over from traditional to organic without breaking your bank account. How to Use Scrapbooking Eyelets – The Most Popular of Scrapbooking Embellishments

By Lisa Robbins Scrapbooking Eyelets Eyelets are the new craze in scrapbooking. See what the fuss is all about. About Eyelets Eyelets are embellishments used for scrapbooking and other craft projects such as card making. Eyelets are generally made of aluminum or brass and come in two sizes and three types. The most common size for eyelets is 1/8″, although they also come in 3/16″. 3/16″ eyelets are larger than 1/8″ eyelets and generally cost more. Types of eyelets include plain, top coat, and anodized. Plain eyelets are not painted so they are the color of the metal they are made out of. This type of eyelets is not very common. Eyelets also come with a top coat color. These eyelets are painted. The last type of eyelet is anodized. Anodized eyelets have a more metallic color than eyelets with a top coat. Eyelets have a hole through the center that is used to attach them to your paper. Brads are often sold with eyelets. Brads differ because they do not have this characteristic hole. Instead, brads have two metal flaps on the back that can be bent to attach them to paper. Where to Use Eyelets Eyelets come in many shapes and colors. They can be used to attach items such as ribbons, paper, pictures, and tags to scrapbooking pages. Eyelets are a simple way to add to the color and theme of your scrapbooking pages. Here are 15 ideas for using your eyelets. Embellishments on a paper piecing picture such as buttons on a snowman or dots on a lady bug Attach vellum paper To hange tags or frames from Create movable parts on your paper piecing Create a page theme such as shells for a beach page or fish for a fishing trip page Corners of picture mats In the hole of a tag As bullets for a list Journaling accents Eyes of animals such as owls The center of flowers Create your own bugs, butterflies,or bees from eyelet shapes As the dot on an i or the center of a letter To make a string of Christmas lights or as the ornaments on a christmas tree The M&Ms in M&M cookies String ribbon or craft fibbers through a line of eyelets The list could go on and on. You can use eyelets to add dimension that will spice up any page. How to Use Eyelets It is time to roll up those sleeves and break out your handy tools. You will need a hammer, hole setter, and a resilient work surface such as a rubber craft mat to get started using eyelets. Place your scrapbooking page face up on your work surface. Put the hole setter on your page where you want to insert the eyelet. Lightly tap the end of the hole setter a few times until a hole is created. Place your eyelet upside down on your work surface and put your scrapbooking page over the eyelet so that the back of the eyelet sticks throught the hole you just created. Place the setter with the flat end over the back of the eyelet and lightly tap the end of the setter with your hammer until the back of the eyelet begins to bend outward. Hammer the back of the eyelet directly until the eyelet flattens down into place. Turn your scrapbooking page over and be proud of your work. Where to Buy Eyelets You can purchase eyelets from me! My eBay Scrapbooking Store has hundreds of mixes of eyelets. Just look for my seller id: scrapsandcrafts ScrapbookFinds.com has a search engine for finding scrapbooking eyelets, brads, and other supplies. Try it out. Apple iPhone – Irresistible Gadgetry

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Richard_Rojas]Richard Rojas The long anticipated release of the Apple iPhone is scheduled for Friday June 29, 2007 at 6pm in each US time zone. The anticipation has been mounting ever since Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, announced the Apple iPhone during his keynote address at Mac World 2007 in San Francisco, CA. The kind of hype surrounding the iPhone hasn’t been seen for a new product announcement since, well, the Apple iPod. This is really no coincidence, since Steve Jobs is a master at stirring up rabid anticipation around new product launches. It also helps that Apple usually comes up with revolutionary product concepts that wind up changing how the world uses technology. Just think back to the Mac, iPod, and iTunes. An iPhone prototype was kept in a Plexiglas case at the Mac World show like some sort of religious relic or maybe a talisman from another galaxy. Fascinated attendees swarmed the display case, but could only stare in wonder at the mysteriously beautiful object encased within. Sorry, absolutely no touching was allowed! This was cruelty in the extreme since the allure of the Apple iPhone rests in the pleasure of cradling it in your hands and using your fingers to navigate its touch-sensitive screen. The Apple iPhone will be released first in the US first, and then in Europe during Q4 2007, followed by Asia in 2008. This is one of the few instances in recent memory where a technologically advanced cell phone is being released in the US before the rest of the world. Eat your heart out Japan! Were now seeing a cultural shift where the cell phone has become a fashion accessory. There are fashion shows that prominently feature cell phones along with matching clothing. The extreme in cell phone as status accessory, are gold-plated and diamond encrusted cell phone models selling for thousands. Cachet is the bottom line. Regardless of the iPhones shortcomings, some of which are may prove to be critical, there is no question that the iPhone will be a huge success and demand for it will be off the charts. The demand for the Apple iPhone is already intense and the first shipments will be sure to sell out quickly. The only important question remaining is will the Apple iPhone take its place alongside the Mac and the iPod as iconic products or will it fizzle into obscurity like the Apple Newton and the Cube? Richard R. Rojas covers the PDA and cell phone industries. How Do I Find A Good Lawyer And Avoid A Bad One

By Sebanti Ghosh Finding a good lawyer for your business is not a tough job. If you do not get a lawyer that suits your business needs, the result can be horrible. Some cases can be very important for you and if you do not win them, you may loose a very good amount of money. So choosing a good lawyer is always prevention. We have some tips to offer so that you can be on a safer side. The First thing is, always know if a general practitioner can fulfill your need or you need a specialist. Hiring a specialist may prove to be expensive or cheaper too. It all depends upon situation. So figure out what you need. When you start looking for a lawyer, try to take some reference from some other lawyers. They can guide you better about it. When you come to know about one, do some homework and cross check if the lawyer is really a good one. The more you find out, the better it is. Finding a very expensive lawyer for some trivial issues is not a good choice. If you know that the lawyer is very expensive and you case is not a big one, you can go for a general practitioner. Before making any deal with any lawyer, please read all documents properly and be clear what you are going to sign. Regularly ask your lawyer to provide you a written statement what he is doing. This will increase your understanding and you can know if something is going wrong. These few things can help you when you are going to choose a lawyer. Career Advice: Winning the Career Game Calls for Putting on a Game Face

By Cathy Goodwin Q. Yesterday I was interviewed for a job that sounds really good. One question stumped me: What kind of boss do you like to work for? Caught by surprise, I said, I like a boss whos available to answer questions and give me feedback. How do I prepare for next time? A. Whether youre interviewing for a job, networking or making a client presentation, youve entered a business relationship. And business relationships differ from friendships. So when you enter a business or a sports arena, you put on a uniform and wear your game face. You follow the rules. Long-time successful players (like Diana Taurasi and Michael Jordan) know the rules so well they can trust their intuition. But most of us will view networking events and interviews as, well, a new ball game. We dont practice every day. Whole years even decades go by without a job interview. So when we come to the game, most of us need to be self-consciously aware of what we are doing. 1. Focus on the game, not your feelings. Before and after your business encounter, you can (and should) share feelings and concerns openly with a coach, consultant or counselor. But when youre face to face in a business meeting, your game face becomes part of your dress-for-success plan. A networking acquaintance asks, How are things going? You know he doesnt want to hear about problems with suppliers, child care or your crazy boss. Time to share a success story, matter-of-factly, without bragging. 2. Create your playbook before you enter the arena. Anticipate questions whenever possible. Talk to others with more recent experience. The other team has a three-point lead and you have sixty seconds left in the game. They have the ball. I must admit I was surprised the first time I heard a sportscaster explain, At this level, the coach has already diagrammed the plays for situations like this one. But it makes sense for sports and business, too. 3. Create a game plan for surprises. You cant plan for every contingency. Opposing coaches come up with creative plays and interviewers come back from a conference with new questions. One trick I share with clients: As you hear each question, ask yourself, What answer will show I understand the game and am prepared to play by the rules? So youre asked, What kind of boss do you like? Most likely, your prospective employer doesnt care what style of leadership you prefer. If youre working for a big company, chances are youll have multiple bosses in one year, each with different personalities, management styles and expectations. But your company does care about accomplishment. For a for-profit company, you might talk about working for a results-oriented boss. You then talk about the importance of contributing to the bottom line. Non-profits are guided by mission so you fine-tune your response. 4. Recognize that the game can change in the blink of an eye. Of course, you may realize that you will not be able to function in the environment presented by this organization. You can withdraw from the game altogether. But I encourage clients not to leave too fast. Just as a basketball game can reverse in the last twenty seconds, a job can change overnight. Literally. 5. Plan for getaways. Some people live for their game and their work. I know some Internet marketers who work sixteen hours a day happily. Some players and coaches live for the game, especially during March Madness. They relax by shooting around on the court. But most of us need breaks and getaways. We need to step back to gain perspective. And everyone I know needs a place to take off the game face and relax, if only for a little while. Binge Eating – How To Stop Binge Eating And Get Back In The Driver’s Seat

By Melissa McCreery, Ph.D. Binge eating is eating “gone wrong.” Binge eating is eating gone on automatic pilot, eating disconnected from physical body sensations like fullness and hunger. After a binge you may experience a glazed feeling and a “coming back to awareness.” “What happened here?” and “I wish I could undo that” are common thoughts. Mindful eating is the opposite of bingeing. Mindful eating, conscious eating, and intuitive eating are all terms to describe eating that occurs when the mind and the body are in full communication. When this process is happening, we eat in response to our body cues and our body’s needs. We eat what we are hungry for and we eat until we are full (not stuffed). We are conscious of how we are feeling while we are eating and how we are likely to feel afterwards. Conscious eating does not leave us stuffed to the gills, sick to our stomachs and collapsed on the couch, too uncomfortable to move. Conscious eating fuels us and gives us energy. The food we eat consciously gives our bodies and our minds pleasure. It is a nice experience. To stop binge eating, the first requirement is to turn off the automatic pilot and get back into the driver’s seat. This takes practice and won’t be easy the first or second time you try it. Like using a muscle though, your ability to stop a binge will grow stronger. Try these tips: Slow down. Don’t try to stop the binge at first, but communicate to yourself what you are doing. This means you are not on auto-pilot. Say to yourself out loud or in your head “I feel a binge coming on” or “Here we go” or “I’m starting to feel out of control with my eating.” Make the process conscious. Put your food on a plate. You’ve heard this before because it’s important. To be mindfully eating you need to be experiencing the food and how much of it you are choosing to eat. Practice being a nonjudgmental observer. Try to notice what both your head and your body are doing–from a curious nonjudgmental standpoint. What’s the dialogue going on in your brain? Is it silent, are you numb, are you criticizing yourself or already planning how you’ll do it differently tomorrow? Don’t try to change your thoughts, just be curious and collect data about what your mind is doing. Now put your hand on your stomach. Take a deep breath. Try to pay attention to how your body is feeling. Feel your hand on your stomach. Feel it move as you breath. Try to take note–nonjudgmentally of how your body feels. Is there tension anywhere, muscle tightness, are you holding your breath or breathing deeply? Does your stomach feel full or empty? How full? How empty? If you feel courageous, put your other hand on your heart. Feel your heart beat. Keep breathing. Ask yourself what you are REALLY hungry for. Ask yourself what you could feed your self and your spirit IN ADDITION TO food. Sit for a minute and listen. Don’t worry or be afraid if you don’t know the answer this time. It’s asking the question that is important. Afterwards, if you can do it, try to write down what you noticed about the whole experience. Work very hard not to be critical but to write from the standpoint of a curious observer. As you think about what happened, can you identify anything that brought you to that binge? What was going on before? When did you decide to do it? Can you identify how you were feeling–both in your mind (bored, lonely, happy, sad) and in your body (tired, tense, hungry)? Practice doing one small, nice, compassionate thing for your body and soul every day that has nothing to do with food. It doesn’t have to be earth shattering. Put your feet up and sit for fifteen minutes before you tackle the laundry, take a bubble bath instead of a shower, wear something that you feel lovely in, put music on that you love, kick off your shoes and wiggle your toes. Iowa Criminal Records

By Jennifer Bailey Apart from the web sites of state governments and other state authorities that include the different departments of corrections across different states, another very good source of information on criminal records are the courts. This is because apart from the general information about a person’s criminal record, the courts can also provide more extensive information surrounding the conviction. In addition tot his, courts can also provide helpful information on ongoing cases, which can be very helpful for firms and individuals who want to make sure that the people they are dealing with have no cases filed against them. In the state of Iowa, this is also very true, as the courts of the state also provide extensive information on the cases and convictions that has happened within the state. Where and how to get information from the courts in Iowa In 2002, the judiciary in Iowa started to offer information on criminal, civil, probate, and traffic courts across all courts in the state to the public. One of the best sources of such information is the web site of the judiciary that provides online docket records (www.iowacourtsonline.org). The information that people can access from this web site covers the period from 1997 to the present, however, the judiciary is in the process of uploading information on cases before 1997. The information given by this database include the index of all the proceedings and filings in all the court cases tries in Iowa courts that are maintained by the clerk of court. Usually, the case information that is provided contains information on the filings, the criminal charges, the status of the case, child support payments, and fine payments. Given that these pieces of information are very broad information, the courts usually do not charge the people who request for them. However, if people are interested in getting more specific and extensive information, the courts usually charge a $25 monthly registration fee for the information, which can contain very specific information like the schedules of the trial. As with other states, the courts in Iowa also provide a good source of information on the criminal records of individuals who have been tried and convicted in the state. This is because like the courts in other states, the Iowa judiciary can provide extensive and very specific information not only on past cases, but on current cases as well, which allows individuals and firms to conduct a complete and reliable criminal record search. Criminal Records provides detailed information on Criminal Court Records, Criminal Records, Criminal Records Online, Criminal Records Search and more. Research Cell Phone Plans

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Max_Bellamy]Max Bellamy The cell phone has made life easier for everyone. Its contribution to the economy of the world, as well as to individuals cannot be gauged in terms of simple statistical data. Ever since the advent of the cell phone, life, business and relationships have seen a tremendous improvement. However, along with these benefits, it has also brought along extra expenditure for those who use cell phones. If one is not careful, one may end up spending more than required. The most important thing to know while doing research on cell phone plans is to know the type of plans that are available. Most of the cell phone service providers in the U.S. offer plans and incentives that include free long distance calling, closed user groups, free or cheap evening rates, cheaper mobile-to-mobile calls, and others. Knowing what to get depends on what one is seeking. The first thing to determine is where one is expecting to make the most calls. Is it to a local number, national, or international number? This sets the path for the research. The other thing to know is what features, apart from the call and SMS, you are looking for in your cell usage. Are you looking at voice mail, call waiting, call forwarding, conference calls, and even Internet access on the phone? These features come with extra charges. One must choose from the endless options available from various cell phone companies to find out exactly what one needs. Another important thing to consider is whether you want monthly billing or whether you want to go with pre-paid cell phone plans. Each plan has its inherent advantages. However, as a general rule, pre-paid plans are for those people who do not need to make too many calls and when the cell phone is mostly used for receiving calls rather than for making them. Also, the credit limit of a person determines whether one goes for a pre-paid or a billing plan. If someone has a bad credit history, a pre-paid plan seems to be the only option for him or her. Thus, one must research cell phone plans to find out exactly what it is that one requires, both for the short term as well as the long term.
